Do you think the state intends to close down the permit program for the cabins around curlew, widgeon, and college ponds. Do you think this would be good, bad, unfair, etc.n n If you think the state is going to do this - how many years in the future do you think they are going to terminate the cottage permit program. Thanks.

I don't think the State would close down the cottages. They only make money for the state.I have always heard they are 99 year leases?? I'm not sure though.

Could somebody fill me in on why they are preventing buying/selling of the cottages after 2005 then? I look on MLS and see several of these cottages up for sale. I could see myself getting a cottage, but not if x years down the road they discontinue the leases. What would happen then - would you have to take your cottage out on a flatbed?n n Also, could somebody also point me to information about the terms of the leases (i.e., when/how the cottage can be used, fees, etc)? Thanks....

I would contact the State Offices for Parks and Recreations.

I checked with Parks and Recreation. If the permit program is terminated, you get two choices:n 1. Remove your cottage from the park;n 2. Abandon it.

No. But I was considering trying to buy one. But now I'm not so sure. I really love Myles Standish and the ponds but the asking prices are just too much to risk.
